STRATEGI PENGELOLAAN LIMBAH INDUSTRI TAHU DALAM MENINGKATKAN KESEJAHTERAAN SOSIAL MASYARAKAT DI GAMPONG BITAI KECAMATAN JAYA BARU KOTA BANDA ACEH

Abstrak

The community around the tofu industry in Gampong Bitai, Jaya Baru District, Banda Aceh City, still lacks knowledge and skills in processing tofu waste. In fact, good waste management not only reduces negative impacts on the environment, but also has the potential to improve local economic welfare. This study aims to describe the tofu industry waste processing strategy in improving community welfare, as well as identifying supporting and inhibiting factors. The method used is qualitative descriptive research, with data collection from informants directly. The results of the study show that the tofu industry has an important role in improving the social and economic conditions of the community. In addition to providing employment, this industry also contributes to increasing income and education of residents. Waste management strategies include recycling, clean production, community education, and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL). Solid waste such as tofu dregs is processed into products such as crackers, which opens up new business opportunities and reduces unemployment. The positive impact of this industry can be seen from a cleaner environment, improved health, economic growth, and social harmony. Overall, the existence of the tofu industry has a significant impact on improving the standard of living of the Gampong Bitai community
