Abstract

Village mentoring is an activity to carry out community empowerment actions through assistance, organization, direction, and facilitation of the village. Village mentors are also tasked with encouraging supervision and monitoring of the implementation of village government and village development carried out in a participatory manner by the village community. The existence of village mentoring is expected to realize participatory development from the village government and the community. The construction of facilities and improving the village economy are part of national development, as a concrete step by the central government to improve the quality and quantity of rural human resources. The strategy and supervision of village funds include several aspects, such as testing evidence of accountability for village funds, fulfillment of village fund reports. The research problem formulation is: What is the strategy of village facilitators in supervising village funds? What are the obstacles for village facilitators in supervising village funds? This research uses a qualitative approach. The results show that the strategy of village facilitators has been well-executed, but there are still challenges that indicate the need for improvement so that the existing strategy needs to be continuously refined to achieve more optimal results. The main obstacles for village facilitators in supervising village funds include two things: human resources (low education and community participation) and facilities (limited facilities and infrastructure). Both of these things hinder the effectiveness of supervision, so it is necessary to increase human resource capacity through education and improving facilities to support more transparent and effective supervision.
