ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL IDETITAS TRIGONOMETRI BERDASARKAN KRITERIA WATSON

Abstrak

The purpose of this study was to identify students' mistakes in solving trigonometric identity questions by referring to Watson's criteria and to find out the factors that cause students to make mistakes in solving trigonometric identity questions. The method used is descriptive qualitative research. The results showed that of the eight types of Watson error criteria there was a student who made up to seven types of errors, one student made six mistakes, seven students made four mistakes and the rest made two to three mistakes. The most common errors made were the criteria for incorrect data, inappropriate procedures, missing data and lost conclusions. The factors that cause errors are students not mastering the basic concepts of trigonometric identities and are not willing to try hard to understand the basic concepts of trigonometric identities. Both of these factors are formed from the attitude of students who think that it is difficult to understand the basic concept of trigonometric identity.
