Abstract

The ability to solve story problems is an important ability in learning mathematics. However, the fact is that students' ability to solve math story problems is still low, so a learning strategy is needed that can make students' ability to solve math story problems better, one of which is using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach. The aim of this research is to determine the increase in the ability to solve mathematics story problems using the CTL approach. The research method used was an experiment with a one group pre-test and post-test design. The population in this study was class VII-3, 24 people selected by random sampling. The data was collected using a test of students' ability to solve math story problems. The data analysis technique used is the t-test. From the research results obtained. From the research results, it was obtained that   was 1,71 and  was 42,913 which means , this means that rejecting H0 accepted H1 so it can be concluded that
