Abstract

The population in this study was the fourth grade students of SD Negeri Karieng, amounting to 16 people. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling or total sampling, namely taking one or two or more classes at random from the entire existing population class; namely all fourth grade students consisting of 16 people. Data collection was carried out using test techniques. The test technique was held to determine the differences in students' abilities in understanding the material of quadrilaterals in the fourth grade of SD Negeri Karieng before and after using the expository method and the inquiry method. The test was conducted twice, namely pretest and posttest. Processing of test results data using the t-test formula with a significant level of = 0.05 and dk = 14, it turns out that t_count>t_table is 2.19>2.14. Thus, from the results of this study, it can be concluded that there are differences in students' abilities in understanding the material of quadrilaterals using the expository method and the inquiry method in the fourth grade of SD Negeri Karieng.
